Hi, I am HerbalMom. I have 6 children and one handsome husband.
My interests are nutrition, natural childbirth, herbs & other natural medicines. I also enjoy art and photography, two hobbies which I have not had much time for in the last decade +, due to the fact that I am raising a family.
I have a deep yearning to have a farm, learn about the proper care of soil/organic/no-till gardening and to have a cow and some chickens. I have a friend who has cows and I got the privelage of milking her cow (due to the calf passing away the morning of the day she was leaving) while she was out of town for two weeks.
I was very pregnant, and had my baby three days after she got back!
We homeschool & homebirth… These last 3 births I didn’t hire a midwife for.
I have attended some births as a Doula and even got to deliver my brother’s baby because their midwife didn’t make it in time.
I am not your typical pregnant lady. I milk cows, lift heavy objects, eat raw eggs… all whilst being pregnant…
Dad-My husband is very much into Ultimate Fighting and recently, it seems, motorcycles. He boonswaggled me into “letting” him get one under the pretense that it would save money on gas… but things are now sort of out of hand, in my opinion. I have not expressed this opinion to him but I am sure my secret will have to come out one of these days.
I personally would feel much more comfortable if he were fooling around with a bio-diesel/SVO conversion on some old Mercedes. Then we could drive around smelling like fries, without the arterial cloggage. Anyway he is having just too much fun with his motorcycle..s. Thank goodness we live in Oregon where it rains 9 months out of the year, so he won’t be on it so much.
Oney- This is my 13yr old daughter, who doesn’t want to grow up… but is showing all the classic signs of being a teenager. She is very sweet, loving & talented. Not to mention be-a-utiful.
B- This is my just turned11yr old son, who drives me nuts most of the time. He pretty much just says whatever occurs to him at the moment. He is always extremely to-the-point and his comments very ill-timed. In addition he loves to tease & seems to constantly be at the center of every squabble amongst the children…the squabbling never seems to cease.
This child is capable of being super sweet, loving, & helpful. He is a huge history buff, loves to study maps, enjoys playing chess & has been known to sit and do math problems just for the fun of it… He LOVES loves loves Babies!
Cocoa- This is my 7 yr old daughter. She charades as a princess, but is typically deviously up to no good amongst the squabbling masses. She is in dearly in love with our newest arrival, CuckooClock.
Tape- So named due to Cocoa calling him that when he was a baby. This child is male and 5 going on 6 years old. Need I say more?
Aggy, My 2 &1/2 yr old darling girl.
The other day Dad set her up with a movie, Thumbelina. There she was, sitting straight up in her chair, so excited about this movie… looking so darn cute… I just had to get a kiss! So I approached, and as I came near she held out her hand, pointing away, never losing sight of the movie screen… I came nearer… and one word was indignantly uttered…. “OUT!”
This is the person who named our new baby CuckooClock.
CuckooClock- This one is new from Heaven, born the last day of August. I delivered him myself. With my family in attendanc. Aggy cut his cord, with a little help from Daddy.
